Gao Yuanyuan, born October 5, 1979, in Beijing, is a renowned Chinese actress and model. Her breakthrough came in 1996 when she was discovered by an advertising agency and subsequently featured in numerous commercial campaigns, rapidly establishing her prominence in the advertising industry.
高圆圆，1979年10月5日出生于北京市，中国内地影视女演员、模特；1996年，高圆圆被广告公司发掘，随后拍摄大量的商业广告，在广告圈中崭露头；1997年，主演了个人首部大银幕作品《爱情麻辣烫》，从此开始了她的演艺生涯；由她主演的《青红》中饰演女主人公青红入围戛纳电影节最佳女主角奖，随后的《宝贝计划》、《男才女貌》、《单身男女》、《咱们结婚吧》、《一生一世》等都为她赢得了广泛的赞誉和多个奖项。

Host: When making your first investment as an actor stepping into an unfamiliar domain, what perspective or philosophy would guide your product selection?
主持人：您第一次投资，做为演员投资的是不熟悉的领域，会用什么样的角度或者理念去选择一个产品呢？
Mrs Gao：I suppose I embody that “ignorance is bliss” mentality — bluntly honest, I’m no professional investor. This territory lies beyond my expertise, so I compensate by selecting exceptionally proficient teams to execute the vision. Secondly, when evaluating projects, I fundamentally reject profit maximization as the sole criterion. Instead, I pursue initiatives I’m genuinely passionate about, seeking that balanced harmony between purpose and practicality.
高圆圆： 我应该是无知无畏的人吧，从专业角度我不是一个专业的投资人，这个不是我熟悉和擅长的领域，但我选择一个擅长的团队来帮我处理；第二 我觉得选择什么项目的唯一标准一定不是利益最大化，而是一个我最喜欢的项目，在这里面找到一个平衡吧。
Host: Do you want your brand to carry your personal signature?
主持人：你希望自己的品牌有你的个人风格吗？
Mrs Gao：Absolutely. That’s precisely why I embarked on this journey — to infuse the brand with what resonates deeply with me and share those passions authentically.
高圆圆：对，当然是希望了，之所以想要做，就是想把自己喜欢的东西传递出去。
Host: That year when you were 17 must have been a watershed moment in your life, wouldn’t you say?
主持人：17岁那年应该是你人生很大的转折吧？
Mrs Gao：Looking back, it clearly was a pivotal shift — though at the time, I couldn’t see it. When someone first approached me about shooting a commercial, I hesitated, feeling uneasy about the uncertainty. Piece by piece over the years, I gradually inched toward acting, but as you said, I never imagined that seventeen-year-old moment would steer my life onto a completely new path. Back then, I was fixated on finding a stable nine-to-five routine. Deep down I knew this industry never sleeps — it felt at odds with the rhythm I envisioned for my life. Since I hadn’t yet discovered the joy of performing, I stubbornly clung to my original plan.It wasn’t until after graduating university, during the filming of The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber, that everything crystallized. That’s when I realized: This is my calling.
高圆圆：现在看起来是很大的转折，其实当时并不这样觉得 。就是当时有人过来问你要不要拍广告，我还犹豫，不放心。 后来慢慢慢慢往后面走，其实用了很多年才决定做演员，但就像你说的，十七岁那年根本不会想从这一刻开始我人生中走向了另外一条路。那时候一心想要找一个朝九晚五的工作，你知道这个行业不可能朝九晚五 ，就会觉得和我自己想要的生活节奏有点不一样，又没体会到表演的乐趣，就还是朝我自己的方向走了 一直到大学毕业，拍《倚天屠龙记》， 才觉得要做演员了。
