Shaolin Kung Fu Amazes Manila to Hail China-Philippines Friendly Bond

Shaolin Kung Fu hit Manila on Tuesday evening of June 6, as the Chinese troupe from Zhengzhou embarks on a visit to the Philippines, in honor of the traditional friendship between China and the Philippines. On the occasion of the Chinese Cultural Courier @ the Philippines, Chinese performers and artists riveted Filipino eyes on Henan-based cultural offerings, through traditional performing arts and intangible heritages, which include Shaolin Quan, Tai Chi, classical dancing & singing, and folk instrumental music, etc., making possible all the audience relish the chance of looking at the Chinese culture from a new perspective, and gaining insight into what China it is today as well.

Among over 600 officials and representatives in attendance, Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines HUANG Xilian addressed the opening ceremony, followed by her grace of First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos in a warm video message of congratulations.

Shaolin Kung Fu, born and bred in the Song Mountains of Central China’s Henan province, has universally been acknowledged as a hallmark of the Chinese martial arts in the modern world. Not only does it perfectly blend Chan Buddhism and homegrown martial arts, with long-established ties to the Shaolin monks and monastery, but also is strongly in support of harmony and peace, through a vivid and rigorous demonstration of multiple styles that have developed over centuries in China.
